Annual Inter–Area Sports Day to Be Held In Nakuru

Kenya Wildlife Service employees from all parts of the country will from November 2 to 5, 2009 converge at Afraha Stadium in Nakuru for the annual Inter-Area Sports Competition.  The Competition, which brings together teams representing Headquarters and all the eight field Conservation Areas, involves field events, indoor games, athletics, ball and fun games.

The event dubbed the ‘heartbeats from the wild’ is part of staff welfare activities lined up in this financial year. The official opening ceremony will be combined with a thanks-giving prayer service to thank God for various achievements by the Service in the year.

The ceremony will be presided over by the Minister for Forestry and Wildlife Hon. Dr. Noah Wekesa.

The Programme

  •  Monday November 2, 2009 – Arrival of Teams in Nakuru/Registration
  • Tuesday November 3, 2009 – Official opening ceremony at 9.30 am
  • Wednesday November 4, 2009 – Sports activities continue
  • Thursday November5, 2009 – Sports activities continue/official closing at 3.00 pm.
