Welcome to Kenya Wildlife Service

The Kenya Wildlife Service Fund Launch

The Kenya Wildlife Service will on August 27, 2010 launch the Kenya Wildlife Service Fund (KWS Fund).

The Fund’s main objective is to provide a sustainable source of funding for conservation of wildlife and its habitats, to benefit present and future generations.
Through the Fund, KWS will be able to carry out its mandate regardless of the external shocks that periodically hit the tourism industry, which is the main source of funding for conservation.

The Fund will also facilitate rehabilitation of degraded wildlife habitats and ecosystems, research activities in the field of wildlife conservation and management, community-based wildlife conservation initiatives, conservation education and extension services to create public awareness.

The Endowment Fund’s goal is to raise Ksh.7.5 billion (US $ 100 million) by the year 2020.
Funders include visitors, foundations, the Government of Kenya, multilateral and bilateral assistance, corporations, and concerned citizens in Kenya and around the world.
