Cycle with the Rhino 2013

Cycle with the Rhino 2012 certainly lived up to its reputation as the most spectacular wild bicycle racing event in the region. Cyclists from all over the world had a tough but adventurous cycling competition at the magnificent Lake Nakuru National Park

This year, is no different as the stakeholders, sponsors ,the community around the park and the general public will again experience a thrilling cycling competition .They will cycle through the dusty hills and valleys, crisscrossing through the heart of Nakuru town and its environs before culminating in a lifetime experience tour of the lash Lake Nakuru National Park.

Cycle with the Rhino is held annually to raise funds for the rehabilitation of a 74-square Kilometer electric fence and undertake community conservation education around the park which is a successful Rhino breeding sanctuary. Funds from the previous events have been used to construct 22 kilometers of the 74 kilometer fence and to facilitate KWS social responsibility activities around the area.

This year KWS targets to raise Kshs.10 million which will be used to fence 5km of the remaining 52 kilometers at Ksh.2 million per kilometer. Read more
