Grevy’s Zebra research and conservation conference

Kenya Wildlife Service will be holding its 5th annual Grevy’s Zebra research and conservation conference on Thursday 7th November, 2013. The venue will be Safari Walk boardroom, KWS headquarters along Langat road from 9.00 AM. 

This is an annual event that brings together all the stakeholders and workers conducting research on Grevy's Zebras from across the country with the following objectives:

  • To disseminate findings of research works for management uptake.
  • To take stock of the population status of Grevy's zebras.
  • To identify specific risk factors facing Grevy's zebras.
  • To identify gaps in information on Grevy's Zebra and recommend appropriate interventions.
  • To provide a forum for all the Grevy's Zebra researchers to bond, compare notes and share experiences.
  • To monitor and evaluate progress in implementation of the National Grevy's zebra Conservation Strategy.
  • To evaluate the impact of Grevy's zebra conservation initiatives.
  • To strategize on future management oriented research.
