Two suspected poachers killed and firearm recovered

Two suspected poachers were on 25 November 2010, gunned down while three others escaped with injuries at Lemomo Hills, 5km from Amboseli National Park. Kenya Wildlife Service rangers recovered a firearm during the incident. The gang is suspected to have been responsible for the killing of two elephants three weeks ago in the same area. The dead, a Kenyan and Tanzanian, were gunned down while shooting at a herd of elephants. The other suspects escaped with injuries and are still being pursued.
