and KEFRI Sign MoU

After
months of negotiations Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS), and the
Kenya Forestry Research Institute (KEFRI), have finally signed
a Memorandum of Understating.
Signing
the M.O.U the KWS Director, Julius Kipnge’tich espoused
the spirit behind new inter-departmental alliance noting that
this was an important step in the development of both organizations
and that it was indeed the way forward for conservation.
The
pact, which seeks to explore ways of enhancing relations between
the two organizations, will cover such divers areas are information
exchange for decision making, identification and promotion
of research projects, building of human and institutional
capacity and carrying out of impact assessments in areas of
interest.
The
five-year Memorandum of Understanding between KWS and KEFRI,
which was recently signed in a simple ceremony at the KWS
Headquarters’ in Langata, goes into effect immediately.
