Ostrich

Scientific Name:	Struthio Camelus Massaicus
Conservation Status:	Least Concern

These large flightless birds can be see on the open plains of Kenya, with the female a drab brown in comparison to the striking black and white plumage of the male. The skin of the male ostrich turns a bright glowing red during breeding seasons. The more rare Somali ostrich is also present in Kenya.
