Accommodation Kamboyo Guest House
Location: Kamboyo is in Tsavo West National Park. It can be accessed through the Mtito Andei Gate which is 232 km south-east of Nairobi and 249 km north-west of Mombasa. Accommodation: Formerly the warden’s house, Kamboyo Guesthouse stands in its own grounds with magnificent views across the Park. It has its own waterhole visited nightly by a wide range of animals. Accommodation comprises 4 bedrooms; master bedroom with double bed and single bed, 2nd bedroom with double bed, 3rd bedroom with two single beds, and 4th bedroom with a single bed. Bathroom: Two bathrooms, one being ensuite to the master bedroom. There is also an outside shower in the courtyard. Sitting room: The spacious furnished sitting room has a log fire and doors leading to the veranda, where there is an outside seating area and steps leading to the upper wildlife- viewing deck. Dining area: An open-plan dining room leads off the sitting room. There is also a dining table and benches on the veranda. Kitchen: Equipped with a gas stove (with oven), refrigerator, kitchen utensils, cutlery, crockery and glasses. Provided: Caretaker, electricity by generator from 7-10pm, kerosene lamps, blankets, pillows, bed linen, mosquito nets, towels, soap and toilet tissue. Park highlights: Spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro and the Chyulu Hills. Visit to Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary, Mzima Springs, Shetani Lava Flow, Chaimu Crater, poachers’ lookout and Roaring Rocks. Activities: Driving circuits, nature trails, hiking and climbing. Wildlife: Includes; leopard, cheetah, buffalo, rhino, elephant, giraffe, zebra, lion, hippo and crocodile. Birds: The prolific bird features 600 recorded species. How to get there:
Open: Daily 6.00 a.m. - 7.00 p.m. including public holidays. Note: no entry is allowed on foot and visitors will not be allowed entry after 6.15 p.m.
